I'll read your manuscript or a summary and we'll set up a phone call. I like to read your manuscript and develop my initial concepts before I hear your ideas, that way I'm not influenced, or boxed in, and can be more creative with my ideas. During the phone call we'll get to know each other and talk about any ideas you might already have, but if you don't have any, that's fine, too!! You can also show me any examples you like, and any you don't like, too - that can be surprisingly helpful! I'll let you know my initial thoughts and ideas that came to me while I was reading your book. We'll also talk about:
First impressions really are everything! Great cover design will get your book noticed and draw in your potential buyers. And if you'll be selling your book on Amazon, it's important to have a cover that stands out!
For both fiction and non-fiction book, your cover needs to be integrated with the interior design and convey your brand. Sometimes this is best achieved with photography, sometimes illustration.
Who is your target audience?
Where will you sell your book and how will you market it?
Hardcover or Softcover? Do you want flaps?
Do you have any thoughts on the size and shape of your book?
Do you prefer illustration or photography? Or maybe just text? That can be really cool, too!
If illustration, do you have a style in mind? Different styles of Illustration can communicate a different "feel."
After your personalized quote is approved, I will send 3-7 concepts and we'll have some back and forth until your cover is perfect!
